Book: God on the Move, Making Disciples Among the Nations

God on the Move: Making Disciples Among the Nations, edited by Dave Coles. William Carey Publishing, 2025. 136 pages.

Five years ago, a groundbreaking book about disciple-making movements was published. Motus Dei: The Movement of God to Disciple the Nations met a critical need in the study of movements. Now we have a more accessible version.

God on the Move is designed for everyday readers, busy missionaries, and global believers. It distills key ideas from Motus Dei without sacrificing depth or credibility. With inspiring case studies, biblical reflections, and practical insights from around the world, God on the Move serves as both introduction and invitation—to witness, understand, and join in what God is doing through modern-day movements.

The Motus Dei Network has just released a statement calling the church to rediscover its biblical identity as a movement of Jesus, not merely an institution. Read Reactivating the Church as Movement. It’s powerful.

Video: How to Find Unreached People Groups in Your City With Google Maps

Source: Crescent Project

As followers of Christ committed to bringing the gospel to all peoples, we often look outward—to distant nations, remote villages, or unreached groups far away. But what if opportunities to engage unreached people groups are right in our own cities, neighborhoods, and courtyards? What if God has placed people with different cultures, languages, or faith backgrounds just around the corner—calling us to notice, learn and look for opportunities to bless them?

With this video tutorial (about 10 minutes long), learn a simple strategy, using Google Maps, to identify the locations in your city where people from unreached people groups can be found.

Documentary: The Revival Generation, Gen Z Turning to Jesus

Source: The Christian Broadcasting Network

We’ve featured several reports about UniteUS in our news briefs. It’s, a national revival movement that is gaining momentum on college campuses. Five more large events are planned for this fall, including one September 25 in Tampa, Florida. Want to hear more or share the story? This may help.

The Revival Generation: Gen Z Turning to Jesus is a new documentary from CBN sharing the true story of young adults discovering identity, healing, and purpose through Jesus Christ.

At the center is Tonya Prewett, a burdened mother whose daughter’s hidden pain sparked a campus prayer meeting that became UniteUS. Through moving worship moments, life-changing testimonies, and insights from voices like Dr. Ben Carson and Jennie Allen, this film invites you to see how faith is igniting a generation.

Get a copy of the 70-minute video on DVD or stream it from CBN. Starts a bit slow and dark but will draw you in. Donation (in any amount) required.

You can also learn more about the documentary in a widely circulated article from Religion News Service.

Prewett wrote a book, too. It came out in August. See Roses to Revival: An Unlikely Beginning to an Extraordinary Ending (Trilogy Christian Publishing).

Book and Video Series: A Journey of Worship Around the World

Source: Zondervan Academic

From the Rising of the Sun: A Journey of Worship Around the World, by Tim Challies and Tim Keesee. Zondervan, 2025. 192 pages.

This book is what happens when a pastor, speaker, and blogger teams up with a documentary storyteller to explore and share glimpses of the global church.

The journey starts in Fiji and follows the sun to Australia, Asia (Korea and Cambodia), Europe (Poland), Africa (Zambia and Morocco), and the Americas (Brazil, Chile, Mexico, USA). Along the way, you’ll meet brothers and sisters in Christ who worship amidst stunning landscapes, vibrant cities, and remote jungles. From the hymns sung in Korea’s bustling metropolises to the prayers offered in Zambia’s open plains and a house church in Morocco, you’ll see and feel the unity and diversity of God’s people. Each section includes interviews, background, and reflections on worship from Tim Challies with a couple of discussion questions.

When you buy the book in any format, you’ll also get a code for free streaming access to a high-quality, 12-episode series of videos (each about 20 minutes long) which are even better.

Either the book or video series could stand alone; they cover the same ground. This is not set up as a small group or classroom curriculum but wouldn’t take you much of a step to get there.

Learn more or purchase. So well done; I think you’re going to love it. Watch the trailer.
