The gospel is going forward in an unprecedented fashion\u2014especially in the most restricted countries\u2014driven by prayer, boldness, persecution, and the Holy Spirit, according to a recent report.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat we are seeing around the world is really a gospel wildfire,\u201d says Brother Jonathan, a Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) international ministries worker.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re seeing the gospel go forward like never before in the history of the church,\u201d he says. \u201cThere is nothing which says you have to live in Africa, China, or the Middle East to experience this,\u201d he adds.<\/p>\n
A strong commitment to prayer creates an atmosphere for the wildfire to burn. Brother Jonathan asked one indigenous leader in Burma about their strategy to send workers into unreached villages.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe secret is Fridays.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat is it about Fridays?\u201d Jonathan wanted to know.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn Fridays we all come together and we fast and we pray\u2014every Friday, all day.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat if you\u2019re going into a hostile village?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIf we think it\u2019s going to be a really hostile area, we set aside seven days to fast and pray. When that\u2019s over we go and let the chips fall where they may.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jonathan spoke to one 19-year-old worker in Burma starting in ministry who told him: \u201cI\u2019m going to move into a village where there are no churches and no Christians.\u201d Then he planned to build a small lean-to in the forest to live in, work in the rice fields, and start sharing the gospel.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m going to plant a church and appoint a leader and I\u2019m going to move and do it again,\u201d the young worker told him.<\/p>\n
\u201cHow long do you think you\u2019ll do this?\u201d Jonathan asked.<\/p>\n
\u201cUntil Jesus comes back.\u201d<\/p>\n
The fuel that Brother Jonathan sees in this gospel wildfire is a bold proclamation of the gospel.<\/p>\n
