{"id":3888,"date":"2013-09-11T06:02:38","date_gmt":"2013-09-11T12:02:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/missionscatalyst.net\/?p=3888"},"modified":"2013-09-10T17:52:34","modified_gmt":"2013-09-10T23:52:34","slug":"subversive-mobilization-failure-of-imagination","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/missionscatalyst.net\/?p=3888","title":{"rendered":"SUBVERSIVE MOBILIZATION: Failure of Imagination"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today we soberly commemorate the twelfth anniversary of the 9\/11 attacks which destroyed the World Trade Centers, killed 2,996 people and led to devastating wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Early this week a friend recalled hearing the attacks attributed to a <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Failure_of_imagination\" target=\"_blank\">failure of imagination<\/a>. That phrase landed on me like a ton of bricks.\u00a0Most of us didn\u2019t even dream this could happen.<\/p>\n<p>Twelve years on, I wonder in what ways my imagination may be failing today. What is ahead that I don\u2019t see? What does God have in mind that I\u2019m not even remotely hoping for? How about you? How big is your dream for God\u2019s kingdom in your life, in your city, or maybe even among Muslims, Hindus, and Buddhists?<\/p>\n<p>My prayer for me and you is that God would give us grace to imagine not every bad thing that might happen, but rather the fullness of his coming kingdom, his unobstructed, winsome, complete rule in our lives and throughout his creation.<\/p>\n<div id=\"stcpDiv\">\u00bb Comment on this article below.
