But the Fourth Lausanne Congress is still going on in South Korea until Saturday, with 5,000 in person and thousands more participating through virtual cohorts. And, though they kept it quiet until the event began, there\u2019s also a livestream for some sessions. <a href=\"https:\/\/congress.lausanne.org\/live\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Take a look<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even better, a system offering the videos on demand\u2014so you can watch them with your team or group\u2014will launch in October. <a href=\"https:\/\/lausanne.org\/accelerate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sign up to be notified when it\u2019s available<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A core document from the first Lausanne Congress was the 1974 Lausanne Covenant. It was followed by the Manila Manifesto (1989), and the Cape Town Commitment (2010). Now they\u2019ve published the <a href=\"https:\/\/lausanne.org\/statement\/the-seoul-statement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Seoul Statement<\/a> calling for a renewed focus on the centrality of the gospel and a faithful reading of scripture as we focus on today\u2019s challenges (<a href=\"https:\/\/lausanne.org\/about\/blog\/introducing-the-seoul-statement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">learn more<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One thing that seems to be missing in the statement, as <a href=\"https:\/\/tedesler.substack.com\/p\/lausanne-observations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ted Esler<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/churchleaders.com\/voices\/497595-ed-stetzer-my-appeal-to-lausanne-dts.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ed Stetzer<\/a>, and others point out, is a focus on evangelism. But the event as a whole has a strong focus on recognizing and addressing gaps, and taking the gospel to those with least access to it is a big topic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We highlighted the <a href=\"https:\/\/lausanne.org\/report\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">State of the Great Commission Report<\/a> Lausanne released in April. That\u2019s now available as a free, PDF download\u2014more than 500 pages of research data and analysis from 150 contributors. Looks well worth digging into. It will soon be available in six languages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What will the outcomes from this global congress? Time will tell.
