The earthquake\u2019s epicenter was located 70 km southwest of Marrakesh, near the <a href=\"https:\/\/oukaimeden.org\/\">Ouka\u00efmeden ski resort<\/a> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Atlas_Mountains\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Atlas Mountains<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The earthquake caused widespread damage in the region, with more than 2,500 people killed and over 2,000 injured. Many buildings were destroyed, including homes, schools, and mosques.
