I was enjoying the last rays of the Middle Eastern sun late one afternoon when my friend Khaled called me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHey, Trevor,\u201d he greeted me. \u201cYou have a pool, right?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cA pool?\u201d I glanced across the yard at the inflatable kiddie pool my children used on hot days. \u201cYeah, a little one for the kids. Why do you ask?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAn adult could fit, right? I need it next Wednesday.\u201d His words came out in a rush. \u201cCan you bring it to the garden? And then can you fill it up?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I raised an eyebrow, even though Khaled couldn\u2019t see me. \u201cSure, but what is this all about?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cSalwa wants to get baptized!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Salwa lived in a neighboring region that foreigners couldn\u2019t access. For years, my team and I had prayed fervently for the people of this area, but all our attempts to reach them with the gospel had failed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Salwa had been making regular treks to our city for the past several months. Here she\u2019d met Khaled and some other local Muslim-background believers my team and I have been discipling. When they shared the gospel with Salwa, she eagerly decided to follow Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now, Khaled\u2019s invitation to her baptism was a stunning answer to prayer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I grinned. \u201cI\u2019ll be there. And so will my pool.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
