{"id":11146,"date":"2022-06-15T09:30:05","date_gmt":"2022-06-15T16:30:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/missionscatalyst.net\/?p=11146"},"modified":"2022-06-15T09:30:05","modified_gmt":"2022-06-15T16:30:05","slug":"ethiopia-tigrayan-christians-plant-more-churches-in-exile","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/missionscatalyst.net\/?p=11146","title":{"rendered":"Ethiopia: Tigrayan Christians Plant More Churches in Exile"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Source: Mission Network News, June 13, 2022<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite a ceasefire in the civil war earlier this year, the humanitarian crisis continues in the northern Tigray region of Ethiopia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agricultural system, which employed three-quarters of all Tigray people, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ethiopia-insight.com\/2022\/05\/29\/tigrays-once-thriving-agriculture-sector-has-been-purposely-destroyed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">has been effectively destroyed by the war<\/a>. Hospitals have run out of drugs for cancer patients and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/global-development\/2022\/may\/25\/i-saw-an-oncologist-cry-tigray-cancer-patients-sent-home-to-die-for-lack-of-drugs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">often simply send them home<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eric Foley with The Voice of the Martyrs Korea says, \u201cOur friend, Pastor T, wrote saying, \u2018Still, Romans 8:28. The suffering of people is high, but God is working.\u2019 What Pastor T noted for us was that so many Tigrayans are still forced to live in Addis because of the travel limitations and the inability to return and make a living in Tigray at this point. Yet, God is at work. We need to sometimes step into the shoes of ordinary Christian believers and really not think as geopolitical analysts.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mnnonline.org\/news\/tigray-christians-face-ethnic-tensions-in-addis-ababa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported previously that this group of Christians had planted 11 new churches<\/a> near Ethiopia\u2019s capital, Addis Ababa.
