WEB SITE: Mission Network News’ Short-term Missions Database

From: Mission Network News – January 2005

Have you ever wished there was one place you could go to find out about all the short-term missions trips there are to offer in the world? Well, so has Mission Network News. While we know it’s impossible to post all of the short-term trips known to man, MNN hopes to make enough of them available to you so you can have a wide variety of trips to choose from.

The Short-term Missions Database is very functional. You can search by the type of ministry you would like to be involved in (construction, youth outreach, athletic outreach, music), country, date, cost, mission agency, and more. Each week MNN will also feature a special outreach. Be sure to tell your church, missions committee, mission agency, etc. about this new site that we hope will encourage many to go to the field.

Invitation for Submissions

From: Marti Smith, Managing Editor

Gloria Katusiime, who has been editing our Resource Reviews from Uganda, is now pursuing a more hands-on ministry – and her first foreign missions experience! Gloria will be working with the poor and neglected in a city in South Asia. We’re grateful for Gloria’s cheerful service. Please join us in praying for her as she leaves for Asia!

Meanwhile, here’s your chance to help Missions Catalyst. What books, events, ministries, web sites, or periodicals would you like to see in the hands of other missions mobilizers worldwide? We invite you to submit an article for Resource Reviews or for one of our other columns. Much thanks!

World Christian Conference February 18-21, 2005

From: World Christian Fellowship

The annual World Christian Conference (WCC) in Santa Cruz, California, USA will be held February 18-21, 2005. The purpose of WCC, now in its 20th year, is to address practical issues of integrating a World Christian vision into the life of the Church, both locally and globally.

WCC began in 1985 as the World Christian Conference for Chinese Graduates (WCCCG) when its founders saw the need to bring Chinese Christian brothers and sisters together to challenge them to respond to the needs of the unreached peoples of the world as well as the need for more full-time workers in North America. It now welcomes, challenges, and mobilizes Christians of all ethnicities and backgrounds to fulfill their calling in God’s global plan.

Editor’s note: I wish I could go! Many talented young people – especially Asian-Americans – will be there looking for ministry opportunities and counsel. If you have not experienced the vibrancy of the West Coast’s Asian-American Christian community, here is your chance.

For more information, visit WCC on the web.
