EVENTS: Current Listing of Mission Conferences, Classes, and More

January 05 to 08 – Traction for God Conference (Rocklin, CA, USA). Mission conference for young adults, sponsored by The Harvest Group.

January 10 to April 03 – Encountering the World of Islam Course (online). Twelve-week course will help you discover God’s heart for Muslims. Classes also beginning across the US: Indianapolis, IN; Columbus, OH; Louisville, KY; Tyler, TX; Houston, TX; and Portland, OR, as well as Manchester, England; Russia, Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, and Ukraine. Facilitated by Encountering the World of Islam.

January 10 to 15 – Annual meeting of SEANET South, East, Southeast, and North Asia Network (Chiang Mai, Thailand). Work together to reach the Buddhist world. This year’s theme is “Money and Missions” in the Buddhist world, with special speaker Jonathan Bonk from the Oxford Center for Mission Studies (NJ). Contact Steve S. of OC International for an invitation.

January 18 to 26 – Perspective Intensive Class (Fayetteville, AR, USA). That’s right, you can get Perspectives on the World Christian Movement in one week instead of 15! Traditional 15-week Perspectives classes beginning across the US about this time as well. Live in Arizona? Six 13-week PathWays to Global Understanding classes will take place there this semester.

January 20 – Webinar: Trends in the Global Mission Movement (online). The first of the year’s many learning initiatives from The Mission Exchange. We’ll add others to our calendar as the year goes on. This one features mission researcher Michael Jaffarian.

January 20 to 22 – OPEN Expo (Atlanta, GA, USA). For practitioners of Business as Mission.

January 20 to 21 – Personal Support Raising Boot Camp (Dallas, TX, USA). Provided by The BodyBuilders.

January 28 to 30 – Missions Fest Vancouver (Vancouver, BC, Canada). Free, annual, community-based mission conference in the Missions Fest tradition.

February 04 to 06 – Weekend Tentmaking Seminar (Kauniainen, Finland). Provided by Global Opportunities.

February 04 to 06 – Missionfest Manitoba (Winnipeg, MB, Canada). Free, community-based mission conference in the Missions Fest tradition. This year’s focus is East Asia.

February 05 to 15 – Harvest Multiplication Training: Best Practices in Church Planting Movements for Unreached Peoples (Orlando, FL, USA). Featuring trainers from YWAM, IMB, and others, and designed to help equip field workers, mission committee members, advocates for the unreached, and new strategy coordinators.

February 08 to 10 – Mission CoNEXTion 2011 (Macquarie Park, NSW, Australia). National mission conference, organized by Missions Interlink, engaging Australia in global mission.

February 12 – Prayer Summit for the Hui and Uyghur Peoples (Fort Collins, CO, USA).

February 18 to 20 – Missions Fest Lancaster (Lancaster, PA, USA). Free, annual, community-based missions conference in the Missions Fest tradition.

February 22 to 23 – Personal Support Raising Boot Camp (Moreno Valley, CA, USA). Provided by The BodyBuilders.

February 24 – Collegiate Day of Prayer (USA). A 100-year-old tradition, now revived by campus ministries and Student Volunteer Movement 2. Let’s believe God together for another great awakening in this generation.

February 25 to 27 – Missions Fest Alberta (Edmonton, AB, Canada). Free, annual, community-based missions conference in the Missions Fest tradition.

February 26 – Prayer Summit for the Hui and Uyghur Peoples (Burnsville, MN, USA).

February 27 to March 02, March 03 to 05 – Women of Compassion Retreats (Sharjah, UAE). A getaway for North American women serving in ministry. Register early!

March 02 to 06 – GO Equipped TENTmaking Business as Mission Course (Fort Myers, FL, USA). Provided by Global Opportunities (dates to be confirmed).

March 09 to 10 – Symposium: Unhealthy Dependence to Faith Reliance (Cary, NC, USA). A symposium to share practical ministry solutions on the issues surrounding financial “dependency” in developing countries. Sponsored by TWR and HCJB Global.

March 09 to April 17 – Seek God for the City (global). Forty-day prayer campaign. Materials available from WayMakers.

March 17 to 18 – Personal Support Raising Boot Camp (Indianapolis, IN, USA). Provided by The BodyBuilders.

March 24 to 26 – Missions Fest Yaounde (Yaoundé, Cameroon). Note: several other Missions Fest events are planned for cities in Central Africa this year, though at this writing the dates are subject to change.

March 25 to 27 – Jesus to the Nations (Halifax, NS, Canada). Free, annual, community-based missions conference in the Missions Fest tradition.

March 25 to 26 – ACMC Regional Conference (Pittsburgh, PA, USA). Provided by ACMC (Advancing Churches in Missions Commitment).

April 01 to 02 – Missionfest Toronto (Toronto, ON, Canada). Free, annual, community-based missions conference in the Missions Fest tradition. Largest missions gathering in Central Canada.

April 04 to 07 – US Consultation on World Evangelization (Orlando, FL, USA). A strategic post-Cape Town 2010 gathering of the US Lausanne Committee (Mission America Coalition) including Cape Town 2010 participants and others.

April 07 – The Hindu Student Friendship Network (New Jersey, USA) sponsored by Rethinking Forum.

April 08 to 10 – Rethinking Forum’s 9th Annual North American Consultation (New Jersey, USA). The Rethinking Forum promotes the birth and development of Christ-centered movements in Hindu cultures and communities.

April 08 to 09 – ACMC Mid-Atlantic Conference (Joppa, MD, USA). Provided by ACMC (Advancing Churches in Missions Commitment).

April 14 to 15 – Personal Support Raising Boot Camp (Greenville, SC, USA). Provided by The BodyBuilders.

April 16 to 18 – HarvestFest Saskatoon (Saskatoon, SK, Canada). Free, annual, community-based mission conference in the Missions Fest tradition.

May 15 – Internet Evangelism Day (global). Explore opportunities for digital evangelism.

June 01 to 05 – GO Equipped TENTmaking Seminar (Bergen, Norway). Provided by Global Opportunities.

June 04 to 05 – World Weekend of Prayer for Children at Risk (global). Coordinated by Viva.

June 12 – Global Day of Prayer (international).

June 17 to 19 – Mission Spirituality in Global Perspective (Techny, IL, USA). Annual conference of the American Society for Missiology.

June 22 to July 02 – “Breathe” Conference 2011 (Wilderswil, Switzerland). A ten-day retreat designed to refresh and renew cross-cultural workers. Provided by Catalyst International.

July 11 to 14 – Women of the Harvest Furlough Retreat (Colorado Springs, CO, USA). For North American women who live and work cross-culturally and are on home assignment.

July 23 to 30 – The New Wilmington Mission Conference (Western Pennsylvania, PA). Week-long multi-generational mission conference. A tradition for more than 100 years.

August 25 to 27 – Missions Fest South Africa (Pretoria, South Africa). Free, community-based missions conference in the Missions Fest tradition.

September 15 to 17 – OPEN Expo (Denver, CO, USA). For practitioners of Business as Mission.

September 29 to October 1 – North America Mission Leaders Conference (Phoenix, AZ, USA). Annual event from The Missions Exchange.

October 07 to 08 – Missions Fest Seattle (Seattle, WA, USA). Free, community-based missions conference in the Missions Fest tradition.

November 04 to 06 – Missions Globales (Montreal, QB, Canada). Free, community-based mission conference in the Missions Fest tradition. (This one’s bilingual.)

November 10 to 12 – Global Missions Health Conference (Louisville, KY, USA).

November 11 to 12 – ACMC Ohio Conference (Dayton, OH, USA). Provided by ACMC (Advancing Churches in Missions Commitment).

November 13 – International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church (global).

    Added three items (to the mail calendar page):

    January 21 to 22 – Mission ConneXion Northwest (Portland, OR, USA). One of the largest annual church-based missions-mobilizing events in the Northwest.

    March 19 – Vision 2011 (Lancaster, PA, USA). A student conference on world evangelization.

    June 06 to 08 – Consortium on the Support of Indigenous Ministries (Columbia, SC, USA). This year’s theme is “Partnership: Trends, Trials, and Triumphs.”
