Mission of GodSource: North Carolina Baptists

Want to develop—or help someone else develop—a growing biblical theology of missions?

Check out the new, free Mission of God Bible study which walks through Scripture, showing God’s desire to see all people groups come to faith in Jesus Christ.

The study includes six video sessions, 30-40 minutes in length, with Devon Griffin, assistant professor at Palm Beach Atlantic University, with downloadable guides for leader and participants. The creators suggest it be used with small groups, classes, or personal study.

SERVICES: Mobile Apps for Travel Safety

Source: US Government Overseas Security Advisory Council

The US Government’s Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) has put together a list of 11 useful travel safety apps supported by the U.S. Government (USG). Most of these apps have Blackberry, Apple, and Android versions, and all can be downloaded free of charge. Many can also be used offline, so they are particularly useful if traveling to remote, isolated areas.

You’ll find apps for everything from vaccine recommendations and tips on what’s safe to eat to border and TSA airport security line wait times and tsunami alerts.

Hundreds of commercially apps are also available to assist with and simplify travel, as OSAC points out (offering a few links to several curated lists on travel industry websites). Some US embassies or consulates also have mobile applications.
